Fear of Falling at the AirDance ArtSpace February10-12,2012 Josh Burgess and Morgan Harris perform the piece, "Over Easy" from the upcoming AirDance New Mexico show "Fear of Falling" at the AirDance ArtSpace February 10-12, 2012 AirDance New Mexico presents Fear of Falling at the AirDance ArtSpace  An evening of aerial dance and theater, featuring works on a climbing wall, aerial fabric, swings, and a triple trapeze. Journey through human emotions and art come to life, from the struggles of people forever falling up and down a wall to the joys of playing on swings at the swimming hole, from the isolation of grief to the highs and lows of love as expressed in a series of aerial tangos. Inspired by artists Auguste Rodin, Georgia O'Keefe, Winslow Homer, Erté, Sharaku, and El Greco. Joining Artistic Director Debra Landau are Katy Bowen, Josh Burgess, Joanna Furgal, Daniel Garcia, Morgan Harris, Megan Jarmosevich, and Missy Juarez. The show also features script and text by Jeff Hartzer and original music by Casey Mraz. Appropriate for all ages. Aerial Dance Show Preview

Things are beginning to fly at the AirDance ArtSpace, home of aerial dance troupe, AirDance New Mexico. 

As noted by Adrian Gomez in Sunday's AbqJournal, "Debra Landau is not afraid of heights. In fact, she embraces them." Sure enough, Thursday, April 7th through Sunday, April 10th, she and her aerial dance troupe, AirDance New Mexico will be taking to the air at the AirDance ArtSpace.

An Evening of Aerial Dance

AirDance New Mexico presents Up Against the Wall April 7-10, 2011 at the AirDance ArtSpace An evening of aerial dance and theater, featuring works on a climbing wall, aerial fabric, rope, lyra (aerial hoop), and low-flying trapezes. Enter a world in which bats fly on trapezes as cave paintings come to life, birds change their feathers, ballerinas break out of cocoons, trees dance, the lost lead the blind, and people play in Salvador Dalí's giant mustache. Joining Artistic Director Debra Landau are Lena Armstrong-Strober, Katy Bowen, Josh Burgess, Joanna Furgal, Morgan Harris, Missy Juarez, and Amanda Machon. The show also features original music by Casey Mraz and selections from Jeff Hartzer's CD, Flamingos. Thursday-Saturday April 7-9 @ 8 pm Sunday April 10 @ 2 pm General admission: $10 adults; $8 students and seniors Tickets available at the door (cash or check only).
