33 year old Albuquerque poet Hakim Bellamy is named POET Laureate by Mayor Richard Berry. Earlier this month, Hakim was also named Albuquerque's BEST POET by the Weekly Alibi.

Fear of Falling at the AirDance ArtSpace February10-12,2012 Josh Burgess and Morgan Harris perform the piece, "Over Easy" from the upcoming AirDance New Mexico show "Fear of Falling" at the AirDance ArtSpace February 10-12, 2012 AirDance New Mexico presents Fear of Falling at the AirDance ArtSpace  An evening of aerial dance and theater, featuring works on a climbing wall, aerial fabric, swings, and a triple trapeze. Journey through human emotions and art come to life, from the struggles of people forever falling up and down a wall to the joys of playing on swings at the swimming hole, from the isolation of grief to the highs and lows of love as expressed in a series of aerial tangos. Inspired by artists Auguste Rodin, Georgia O'Keefe, Winslow Homer, Erté, Sharaku, and El Greco. Joining Artistic Director Debra Landau are Katy Bowen, Josh Burgess, Joanna Furgal, Daniel Garcia, Morgan Harris, Megan Jarmosevich, and Missy Juarez. The show also features script and text by Jeff Hartzer and original music by Casey Mraz. Appropriate for all ages. Friday-Saturday February 10-11 @ 8 pm Sunday February 12 @ 2 pm $12 general admission; $8 children (8-18 years of age) Tickets available at the door (cash or check only).
