WHAN that Aprille with his shoures soote
The droghte of Marche hath perced to the roote,

That hem hath holpen, whan that they were seke.

Whether you be off to Canterbury or Chimayo, take care and watch out for traffic. The drive from Albuquerque to Chimayo has over the years been made easier with the Santa Fe WIPP truck route. On your return to Albuquerque, might I suggest staying on the 'truck route' passing under I-25 and cruising straight up in to the Sandias on SR 14, a gorgeous road that will provide driving thrills. An optional stop in scenic Madrid is always an option.

Should you choose to avoid the crowds, Chimayo is of course 'open' year round. Bring a small container if you want to bring back to your home the blessed dirt from the shrine. Best eating near Chimayo is to be found at the Ranchos de Chimayo Restaurant.
